Last week, our three interns, Yousef Mahmoud, Arwa Sameh, and Arwa Mohamed, finished a two-month AI Track Internship Program at Diamond Professional Consultants. This internship was one of those moments that remind us why we do what we do.
Each of them showed dedication and curiosity to explore the fundamentals and applications of Artificial Intelligence — qualities that align deeply with Diamond’s mission to develop future-ready talent and contribute to the region’s innovation ecosystem.
What Did They Actually Do?
You might be thinking, “Okay, but what does an AI intern even do?” Good question. These three interns spent two months with us, from July 20th to September 20th, gaining an understanding of what an AI project looks like in the real world, how to think through problems, how to iterate, and how messy real-world implementation can be.
Yes. They made mistakes, fixed them, and learned from every AI experiment along their journey.
Think about learning to ride a bike. You can watch videos about it all day, but you don’t really learn until you get on the bike and try it yourself, right? That’s what this internship was like.
The Celebration Day: Giving Out Certificates.
After two months of hard work, it was time to celebrate. Everyone gathered at Diamond’s office.
A Sweet Moment to Celebrate.
Our CEO Hatem Elkady sat down with the interns for an open and insightful conversation — discussing their learnings, career goals, what surprised them most about AI, and perspectives on AI’s role in shaping industries.
The Trophy Moment.
Yousef Mahmoud, an intern, received additional recognition as the standout performer of the AI track internship.
Got a trophy from the CEO. Remember! When someone puts in exceptional work, we notice.
Why Do We Do This?
Look, we’re not doing this to feel good about ourselves or to check some corporate social responsibility box. The truth is simpler: AI is moving fast, and the gap between what’s taught in classrooms and what’s needed in the industry keeps growing.
Diamond has the resources, the projects, and the decades of expertise in AI, Advanced Analytics, and next-generation technologies. These students have the curiosity and the perseverance. Bringing them together and closing the educational and corporate gap: Just Makes Sense. Right? Hatem Elkady. CEO Diamond Group & ZAKAA.
What’s Next?
Each intern’s success is a reflection of Diamond’s ongoing initiative to invest in the next generation of AI and technology professionals. By offering opportunities for young minds to apply theory to practice, Diamond continues to bridge the gap between education and industry — nurturing talent that can drive sustainable growth and innovation.
We’re planning to continue offering these opportunities because the industry needs more people who understand AI beyond the buzzwords and hype. And if we can play a small part in developing that talent, we will.
